Welcome to the Surprise Highway

Hi, I'm Jason Siffring.

I'm a business and technology geek living in San Francisco, CA. I have worked in the internet industry in one form or another since 1996. I started in my dorm room at Nebraska Wesleyan University and have worked for companies like Procter & Gamble, Loudcloud and most recently VMware.

In my spare time I try to stay ahead of the latest trends in business and technology. This is a place for me to throw out ideas and nuggets of knowledge that would bore my less-geeky friends and family. If that's you, you might be more interested in my latest photos & adventures on siffring.org. If you are ready to geek-out, have a look around the archives.

Why Surprise Highway?

What's with the name? I grew up on a farm in rural Nebraska, strategically located between the villages of Rising City (pop. 400) and Surprise (pop. 44) on a road known to locals as the Surprise Highway.

So there you go.

(I created a map, documenting a six mile long two-lane highway in the middle of Nebraska. How nerdy is that? Now you know what you're in for. You've been warned.)
